Treeline Cos. of Garden City plans Class A offices

for unused Macy's warehouse in Brooklyn

The Treeline Cos. of Garden City is branching out and transforming part of a Macy's warehouse in Brooklyn into premium office space. The company just inked a lease for the unused site at 29 Gallatin Place, a nine-story building adjacent to a Macy's in Brooklyn. About $20 million will be spent to separate the warehouse space and transform it into class A offices. The ground-floor will possibly house retail operations.

Twenty-year-old Treeline controls more than 560,000 square feet in five Brooklyn buildings and another 900,000 square feet across five Long Island properties. Its Island portfolio includes 1 Old Country Road, the new headquarters of internet retailer 1-800-Flowers.com.Treeline could not be reached for comment.
